List FAQ for Subscribers
Here
are some frequently asked questions and answers about how to administer
your mailing list subscriptions.
Are
DigitalEve mailing list subscriptions free?
Yes, both
our local mailing lists and the topical mailing list SIG's provided by
DigitalEve, Inc. are free for subscribers.
How
can I change my subscription settings?
To make
changes to your subscription, go to http://lists.digitaleve.org/lists/listinfo/de-philly-discuss
and scroll to the bottom of the page where it says "DE-Philly-Discuss
Subscribers." Look for a section that says:
To change
your subscription (set options like digest and delivery modes, get a reminder
of your password, or unsubscribe from DE-philly-Discuss), enter your subscription
email address:
You need to enter
your subscription email address into the text field and click the "Edit
Options" button.
What
if I don't know my password?
If you don't
have your password anymore (it was emailed to you when you subscribed)
you can click the button that says "Email My Password" and the
system will send it to you. Then you can use it to make changes to your
subscription.
I'm
trying to unsubscribe or change my settings, but can't. Why?
Maybe you subscribed with a different email address. Try your other
email addresses and if that doesn't work, contact Lorraine Pasquali
at lmpasquali@mac.com for assistance.
I
subscribed with my work address but I'm getting too many emails.
You have
several options to remedy this. You can:
- Change your settings
to receive a digest of the day's emails
- Stay subscribed
but set your subscription to not receive emails
- Unsubscribe from
the list with your work address and set up a Hotmail account or use
another alternate email address for DigitalEve Philly mail
- Unsubscribe altogether
from the discussion list, but remain on the announcement list so you'll
be kept up-to-date with events and announcements about the chapter
Change your current
settings by going to http://lists.digitaleve.org/lists/listinfo/de-philly-discuss
and scrolling to the bottom of the page, where there is a field for
your subscriber email address. Enter it and click the "Edit Options"
button. On the next page use your password to make your changes.

What
are the rules for the discussion and announcement lists?
Please
read the Mailing
List Guidelines, which our subscribers agree to abide by when subscribing
to one of our lists.
Are
there archives of email messages to the list?
Yes. Go
to http://lists.digitaleve.org/lists/private/de-philly-discuss/
and enter your subscriber email address and password to access them.
I
heard there were cool topical discussion lists. How can I find out what's
available?
There
is a list of lists at http://www.digitaleve.org/getdigital/lists.html
To subscribe, all you have to do is click on the link for the mailing
list and fill out the form. Once you join, you can change your settings
to "Digest" format if receiving individual emails turns out to be too
much.
I
have a great idea for a topical mailing list. Who can I tell?
