Our
chapter supports the Greater Montreal Area. DigitalEve Montreal
/ DigitElles Montreal was founded to create a space in Montreal
for women helping women with new technologies. We are a group of
nearly 400 women: professional web designers and programmers but
also net-neophytes, translators, tech recruiters and activists.
What we share is an interest in technology and in helping each other
through our virtual community. This close-knit group keeps up a
lively exchange on technology issues through its mailing list, where
discussions take place in English and French.
About
Montreal (adapted from http://www.montrealinternational.com)
The Greater Montreal area has over 100,000 companies employing more
than 1.6 million people, many of whom work in the high-tech sectors
of aerospace, pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, telecommunications
and information technologies. For the size of its population, Greater
Montreal has more high-tech companies than any other North American
metropolis.
